Mr. Tom Sherak
On a press conference held the 20th of may by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), it was decided, that the academy award concept was being overhauled.
We were so lucky to catch the chairman for AMPAS, Mr. Tom Sherak, for a brief interview, after the press conference.
What was your motivation for doing this?
The concept has existed for 82 years, and it is about time the Oscar statuettes was handed out a bit differently.
But what is wrong with the way it is being handed out now?
Well, Bob – the thing is, that as you can clearly see, it is the wrong movies getting the Academy awards. Movies like The King’s Speech, Slumdog Millionaire and Million Dollar Baby are getting all the praise, while the TRUE gems of the movie business like ‘Super Mario Brothers – The Movie’, ‘Minotaur’ and ‘Transformers 2′ are getting passed on without as much as an applause.
I see… Well, what is your new strategy then?
We are going to pick four movies, that all are candidates for being the best movie ever made. We send them all to a cabin in Denmark, where they will compete against each other in a series of challenges, to score points, that in the end will earn them the academy award for Best Movie of All Time.
Oh… But isn’t the way it works now much better? I mean, isn’t it more fair that thousands of people are voting based on their preferences?
Well, it might be more fair. Unfortunate for them, I am the CEO of AMPAS, and therefore I can do whatever the fuck I want.
… ermm, right. What are the nominees then?
We have spent a long time pondering and researching what movies should be competing for this glorious honor. In the end, I scrapped it all, and just picked the four movies I wanted.
And what movies are that?
It is, off course, Ghostbusters, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and X-Men.
And can you reveal what exactly how they will be competing?
No, that is off course a secret. But We can reveal, that the last night of the cabin trip will be the big Oscar Night.But unfortunately I need to run, so I don’t have time to talk anymore.

I simply love this entire site! It’s just so perfect and clearly something that you have spend loads of time getting just right
I hope to become a jedi! My unusually high midi-chlorian level should qualify me to become a part of the team. I’ve got the force! And we will battle the X-men team and win! Mostly because I haven’t watched/read X-men.. And I look bad in spandex..

We’ll se how many signups we have around the deadline. If we aren’t full we’ll probably fill the remaining spots with nonguild people (like last year) and then your cousin would be more than welcome…

I asked this in an e-mail to Torsten already, but is the bank account number an IBAN? (International Bank Account Number).
If that’s the case I can just send the 550 DKR directly without a fee. Two years ago this was the case with Chris’ account (carman)

Hi Vince. The account is not an IBAN number. His IBAN is going to be very similar as it contains the same digits plus a few more to define the country Denmark. The owner of the account (Torsten) should be able to contact his bank who can tell him his IBAN in no time. So just keep spamming Torsten to make him do it
